Two families live in the old flour mill – The Upper Mill – and a few of their friends. We rent the premises for weekend or longer events. We organize many events ourselves as well. Our aim is to convert the mill gradually and in an environmentaly sensitive way. The event you are looking at brings us closer to that aim.

We make every effor to hold event like this every first weekend in the month. But as you can imagine it is not alway such easy to stick to this rule!

Working weekends are various. From spring time cleaning, building a children playground to specific building works. In the past we were building and insulating walls using straw bales, plastering with clay or making composting toilets.

We strive to mix the working tasks with leisure activities. You can practice archery, aikido or yoga in the garden. You can familiarize yourself with local richness of fauna and flora, climb trees or rocks. In the close surroundings of the mill there are several beautiful nature reserves, the garden borders with The Moravian Carst rich on caves. The centre of the village of Krtiny is dominated by huge Santini’s baroque church, there are several pubs in the village etc. Everyone in the house has his special interests and way of doing things and it determines the kind of these activities to large extent.
